Rent the Porsche 911 GT3, the most iconic version of the 911. Every aspect of the vehicle has been assessed, engineered, and tuned to create a true motorsport experience that is the benchmark for car enthusiasts.
Examining the GT3 from a distance doesn’t provide many clues of the nature of this beast. When you approach the vehicle, you’ll notice the subtle tweaks throughout the body, beginning with a front bumper that contains larger intakes and ending with a beautiful wing that flows to a purpose built center exhaust, which provides one of the best racing inspired noises ever to come out of a production car.
Power is derived from a 3.8-liter boxer motor that puts out a stout 475hp at a dizzying 9000rpm. That power is routed to the rear wheels through one of the fastest dual clutch transmissions on the planet. This efficiency helps put down power in a hurry; 0-60mph occurs in only 3.2 seconds.
While straight-line acceleration is impressive, it’s the manner in which it preserves that speed through turns that makes the GT3 a superstar on any windy road. The 4 wheel steering inspires you, building confidence in low speed corners that are typically hairy in other high performance machines. With light weight carbon ceramic brakes performing stopping duties, you’ll feel secure it their capabilities.
Stepping inside the GT3, you’ll notice that the interior is very similar to other 991s. The primary differences are the lightweight seats, race inspired steering wheel, and weight saving measures courtesy of carbon fiber. Modern amenities such as Bluetooth integration and air conditioning remain to make your journey comfortable.
If you want to drive the purest 911, the GT3 is the perfect choice for you. We recommend the canyons in Malibu or Calabasas (Mulholland Drive) if you are located in Los Angeles. For Bay Area drivers, we recommend driving either highway 84 or 92 and enjoying Half Moon Bay.
